Member Bies introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
"RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON A CERTAIN
PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT
(Fund 21 - Western Avenue Storm Drainage)
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398,Session
Laws of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct certain
proposed public improvement within the Village as stated in the form of
notice included in paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Engineer for the Village has reported to the Council
advising it in a preliminary way that the proposed public improvement is
feasible, and that it should best be made as proposed and not in connection
with some other improvement, and has given his estimated cost of the
improvement as follows:
Total cost of improvement: $6,647.00
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified
in the form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of
holding a public hearing on the proposed public improvement as described
therein.
4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of
the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two
successive weeks in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the
Village, the first of such -publications to be in the issue of said paper
dated July 4, 1957, and the second of said publications to be in the
issue of said paper dated July 11,1957. Such notice shall be in
substantially the following form:

ON A CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT
(Fund 21 - Western Avenue Storm Drainage)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village
of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday, July
16,1957, at 7:30 o*clock P.M. at the Village Hall in said Village, for the
purpose of holding a public hearing on a certain proposed public improvement.
The Engineer for the Village estimatet that the entire cost
for the improvement will be $6,_07a*00.

The area to be served will be as follows:
Storm Sewer and Surface Waters Drainage
The North 39 rods of the South one-half of the southwest
one-quarter of the southwest one-quarter of Section 31,
Township 118, Range 21, except road. And also that part
of the West one-half of the north-west one-quarter of Section 6,
Township 117, Range 21 lying North of Superior Boulevard,
except road.
The improvement will consist of a storm sewer parallel
to County Road 18 from approximately 200 feet South of
Western Avenue, to Bassett's Creek.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on
the proposed improvement, the Council proposes to proceed under the
authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as amended.
All property within the Village which is benefited by the im-
provement is proposed to be assessed for such improvement as set forth
in the description set forth above, including all property within the
above described area and/or abutting on streets described above, whether
such property be in the area described or not, and including all rail-
road property and all railroad rights-of-way.
All owners of such property in the area and abutting upon
the streets described above, are hereby notified to be present at said
public hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed
public improvement, if any there be.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by Member Teresi and, upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Bies, Nadasdy, Rahn, Stark,
Teresi and the following voted against the same: None whereupon said
resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor,
and his signature attested by the Clerk.
