Member Bies then introduced and read the following writen resolution and
MOVED its adoption:
"RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON A CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT"
(Fund 21 (j) - Scott Avenue Paving)
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley as
follows..
1. In conformity with the provision of Chapter 398, Session Laws of
Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct a certain public im-
provement within the Village as stated in the form of notice included in
paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Engineer for the Village has reported to the Council advising
it in a preliminary way that the proposed public improvement is feasible,
and that it should best be made as proposed and not in connection with some
other improvement, and has given his estimated cost of the improvement as
follows:
Total cost of improvement: $1,264.00
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form
of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public
hearing on the proposed public improvement as described therein.
4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time,
place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks
in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of
such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated August 8, 1957,
and. the second of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated
August 15, 1957. Such notice shall be in substantially the following form:
VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY
HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON A CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC HEARING
(FUND 21 (j) - Scott Avenue Paving)
Notice is hereby given that the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday, August 20, 1957)
at 7:30 o'clock P.M. at 8030 Floyd B. Olson Memorial Highway in said Village
for the purpose of holding a public hearing on a certain proposed public
improvement.
The Engineer for the Village estimates that the entire cost for the impro-
vement will be $1,264.00.

The area to be served will be as follows: changing and establishing the
grade, grading, gravelling, paving with bituminous or other suitable
material and making such changes and provisions for surface water drainage
as may be necessary in and for Scott Avenue from its intersection with Toledo
Avenue to its intersection with Westbend Road.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed
improvement, the Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by
Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as amended.
All property within the Village which is benefitted by the improvement is
proposed to be assessed for such improvement as set forth in the descrip-
tion set forth above, including all property abutting on the street describ-
ed above. All owners of such property in the area and abutting on the
street described above are hereby notified to be present at said public
hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed public improve-
ment, if any there be.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Member Teresi and, upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted
in favor thereof: Bies, Nadasdy, Rahn and Teresi;
and the following voted against the same; None;
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by
the Mayor, and his signature attested by the Clerk.
