#087 09-17-57 Provide Public Hearing Mary Hills Street Improvement2-00 Resolution No. 87 September 17, 1957 Member Rahn then introduced and read the following written resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON A CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT (Mary Hills Street Improvement) BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley as follows: 1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct a certain public improve- ment within the Village as stated in the form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof. 2. The Engineer for the Village has reported to the Council advising it in a preliminary way that the proposed public improvement is feasible, and that it should best be.made as proposed and not in connection with some other improve- ment, and has given his estimated cost of the improvement as follows: Total cost of improvement: $17,866.00 3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public hear- ing on the proposed public improvement as described therein. 4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of such publi- cations to be in the issue of said paper dated September 26, 1957, and the second of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated October 3, 1957• Such notice shall be in substantially the following form: VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON A CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT (Mary Hills Street Improvement) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday, October 15, 1957, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. at 8030 Floyd B. Olson Memorial Highway in said Village, for the purpose of holding a public hearing on a certain proposed public improvement. The Engineer for the Village estimates that the entire cost for the improvement will be $17,866.00 The general nature of the improvement is as follows: Grading and gravel- ling of all streets in Mary Hills Addition and abutting on Mary Hills Addition; installation of concrete curb and gutter along the entire length of Mary Hills II� Resolution No. 87 (Continued) September 17, 1957 Drive and Wasatch Lane; installation of pavement of bituminous or other suit- able material. along the entire length of Mary Hills Drive and Wasatch Lane; and provision for surface water drainage in the area to be served by the improvements The area to be served is as follows: All lots in Mary Hills Addition and commencing at a point in the North line of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 18, Township 29, Range Zit, distance 308.7 feet West from the Northeast corner thereof; thence South parallel with the East line thereof, 740 feet to the actual point of beninning; thence West at right angles 145 feet, thence Northwesterly 128.81 feet to a point 665 feet South from the North line and 558.7 feet West from the East line of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter; thence South to the Northerly line of 19th Avenue North; Thence Easterly along said road line to its intersection with a line running South from Beginning then North to beaming. In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed improvement, the Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as amended. All property within the Village which is benefited by the improvement is proposed to be assessed for such improvement as set forth in the description set forth above, including all property in the area and abutting on the streets described above. All downers of such property in the area and abutting on the streets described above are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed public improve- ment, if any there be.
