#102 11-05-57 Provide Public Hearing Laurel Avenue, Xenia Avenue, Gettysburg AveResolution No. 102 November 5, 1957' Member Bies then introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS (Grading and gravelling: Laurel Avenue 58 GG 3; Xenia Avenue 58 GG 4; Gettysburg Avenue and Duluth Street 58 GG 1) BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley as follows: 1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct certain public improve- ments within the Village as stated in the form of notice included in para- graph 4 hereof. 2. The Engineer for the Village has reported to the Council advising it in a preliminary way that the proposed public improvements are feasible, and that they should best be made as proposed and not in connection with some other improvement, and has given his estimated cost of the improvements as follows: Total cost of improvements: $ 5,681.40 3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public hearing on the proposed public improvements as described therein. 4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated November 21, 1957, and the second of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated November 28, 1957. Such notice shall be in substantially the following form: VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS (Grading and gravelling; Laurel Avenue 58 GG 3; Xenia Avenue 58 GG 4; Gettysburg Avenue and Duluth Street 58 GG 1) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on Wednesday, December 4, 1957, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. at 8030 Floyd B. Olson Memorial Highway in said Village, for the purpose of holding a public hearing on certain proposed public improvements. The Engineer for the Village estimates that the entire cost for the improvements will be $5,681.40. Resolution No. 102 (Continued) November 5, 1957 The improvements consist of the followings Opening, changing and estab- lishing the grade, grading and gravelling, and providing for surface hater drainage in and for the following described streetsi 1. Laurel Avenue westerly from Turner's Crossroad to the east line of the right-of-way of the Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern railroad or, in the alternative, to its most westerly terminus lying -easterly of said right-of-way. The estimated cost of this improvement is $1,683.00. The area proposed to be assessed consists of lots 6, 7, and 8 Meadowbrook Acres and tracts A and D, Registered Land Survey No. 661. 2. Xenia Avenue from the southerly line of Registered Land Survey No. 661 to Old Wayzata Boulevard. The estimated cost of this improvement is $1,137.00. The area proposed to be assessed is all lots or tracts of land abutting on Xenia Avenue between Wayzata Boulevard and the south line of Registered Land Survey No. 661. 3. Gettysburg Avenue from its intersection with Duluth Street to its intersection with Earl Street, and Duluth Street from its intersection with Hillsboro Avenue to its intersection with Gettysburg Avenue. The estimated cost of this improvement is $2,861.,40. The area proposed to be assessed is Lots 11 through 20, Block 1, Lakeview Heights; Lots 1 through 11, Block 21 Lakeview Heights; Lots 1 and 2, Block 8, Lakeview Heights; and Block 7, Lakeview Heights. In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed improvements, the Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as amended. All property within the Village which is benefited by the improvement is proposed to be assessed for such improvements as set forth in the descriptions above, including all property in the area and abutting on the streets described above. All owners of such property in the area and abutting on the streets described above are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed public improvements, if any there be.
