#106 12-04-57 Ratify 1956 Payroll234 Resolution No. 106 December 4, 1957 Member Teresi introduced the following resolution and MVED its adoptions "RESOLUTION RATIFYING 1956 PAYROLL" BE IT RESOLVED,.by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley as follows r WH REAS, the Village Council has read the attached affidavit of Royce W. Owens, which is by this reference hereby made a part hereof, hereby ratifies the 1956 payroll payments therein set forth in accordance with the amounts actually disbursed, rather than as previously approved by action of this Council. STATE OF MINNESOTA jss AFFIDAVIT COUNTY OF HENNEPIN ) ROYCE W. OWENS, first being duly sworn on oath, states and deposes as follows: That 1956 payrolls numbers 16, 17, 18 and 20, dated respectively as follows s Number 16 August 31, 1956 Number 17 September 15, 1956 Number 18 September 30, 1956 Number 20 October 31, 1956 were duly approved by the Village Council, but were in error as approved for the following reasons Payroll Number 16. $19.80 paid to Miss Ruth Farmer which should have been '.withheld as taxes according to the original payroll. This does not affect the Village in any way as it would have been paid to the government. This matter has been presumable settled between the government and Miss Farmer. Payroll Number 17. Through a clerical error the Village Inspectors and Fixe Chief were not included in the amount approved for payment as follows: Dan Lynch $150.00 Harry Hamman. 150.00 Martin Paquette 150.00 Eugene Thotland 25.00 Deleted from this same payroll was Mr. Walter Piech in the sum of $167.:20 due to termination of employment. .,Payroll Number 18. Mr. John Malloy was discharged at a reduction of $102.50 from the amount originally approved. Payroll Number 20. Mr. Timothy Hazel was discharged and the amount of $112.20 was not deleted from the payroll approved. The check was made Resolution No. 101 (continued) December 4, 1957 out although it was never delivered to Mr. Hazel and the check is still in the possession of the Village. Because of the fact that payrolls for salaried employees are made up about two weeks in advance, it is only natural that, due to resignation or discharge of an employee subsequent to the date the payroll is made up, these occurances have been a problem. /s/ Royce W. Owens The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Flannagan, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, Starr, and Teresi; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor, and his signature attesteffiby the Clerk. i Attest: [l kL\-I-aUkqI mayor 230
