Member Teresi then introduced and read the following written resolution
and MOVED its adoption:
"RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON
PROPOSED STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT
AND LAND ACQUISITION FOR SAID IMPROVEMENT"
(58 -SP -1 Storm Ponding Acquisition - Birchbank Addition)
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valli►,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of
of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct a storm drainage
improvement including the acquisition of land for said improvement within
the Village as stated in the form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Engineer for the Village has reported to the Council advising
it in a preliminary way that the proposed storm drainage improvement is
feasible and that it should best be made as proposed and not in connection
with some other improvement, and has given his estimated cost of the im-
provement as follows:
Total cost of improvement: $5,000.00
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified inthe form
of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public
hearing on the proposed storm drainage improvement and land acquisition as
described therein.
4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time,
place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks
in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of
such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated June 5, 1958 and
the second of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated
June 12, 1958. Such notice shall be in substantially the following form:
VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY
HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA
ON PROPOSED STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT
AND LAND ACQUISITION FOR SAID IMPROVEMENT
(58 -SP -1 Storm Ponding Acquisition - Birchbank Addition)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday, June 17, 1958 at
7:30 o*clock P.M. at 8030 Floyd B. Olson Memorial Highway in said Village,
for the purpose of holding a public hearin on a certain proposed storm
drainage improvement and land acquisition for said improvement.
The Engineer for the Village estimates that the entire cost for the
improvement will be $5,000.00.

The area to be served by the storm drainage improvement will be
as follows:
Lots 3 thru 8, Block 3, Glenurban Addition
Lots 3 thru 10, Block 4, Glenurban Addition
Lots 2 thru 7, Block 5, Glenurban Addition
Lots 9 thru 4, Block 3, Glenurban 2nd Addition
Lots 11 thru 14, Block 4, Glenurban 2nd Addition
Lots 23 thru 38, Block 6, Glenurban 2nd Addition
Lots 5, Block 1, 3rd Addition to Glenurban
Lots 4 thru 7, Block 2, 3rd Addition to Glenurban
That part of the West one—half of the Northwest 1/4 of the
Northeast 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Sectinn 30, Township 29,
Range 24, lying North of Janalyn Circle and South of the
North 183 feet thereof.
The land to be acquired for said storm drainage improvement is as
follows:
Lot 5, proposed Birchbank Addition, a map and plat
of which is on file in the office of the Village
Clerk and open to public inspection.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the
proposed improvement, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the
authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as amended.
All property withih the Village which is benefited by the improvement
is proposed to be assessed for such improvement as set forth in the des—
cription set forth above.
All owners of such property in the area and abutting upon the streets
described above are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing
and to make known their objections to such proposed public improvement,
if any there be.

The motion forthe adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by Member Flannagan and, upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, Scherer and
Teresi; and the following voted against the same: None,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by
the Mayor, and his signature attested by the Clerk.
