;ember Bies introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION MAKING ESTIMATE OF MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AND
ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FCS, BIDS (Spring Green South Storm Sewer)
Whereas, pursuant to a resolution passed by the Council on April 15,
1958, the Village Engineer has prepared plans and specifications for Spring
Green South Storm Sewer Improvement No. 58 -SS -1 and has presented such plans
and specifications to the Council for approval, and
Whereas, the estimated cost of such improvement does not exceed
Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00)1 (since one-half of the cost estimated in
the original Notice of Public Hearing on said improvement is to be borne by
the State of Minnesota), Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED:
1. Said plans and specifications are hereby approved.
2. The Village Engineer shall proceed under the direction of the
Council, as given from time to time, to carry on all work in connection with
such imMovement in accordance with said plans and specifications.
3. The Council estimates that the following quantities of materials
will be necessary for said improvement:
Approximately 1,200 feet of corrogated metal pipe and storm
sewer appurtenances thereto
4. The Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official
newspaper an advertisement for bids for the purchase of such materials, which
advertisement shall be published for one week, shall. call for bids for such
materials, shall state that bids will be opened and considered by the Council
at 7:30 otclock p.m. on September 21 1958 at the Council chambers, 8030 Floyd
B. Olson Memorial Highway, and that no bids will be opened or considered
unless sealed and filed with the Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit,
certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond payable to the Clerk for five
per cant (%o) of the amount of such bid.
5. It is hereby found and determined that the Village of Golden Valley
has sufficient equipment of the type necessary to construct said improvement.
It is hereby directed that said equipment be used for said work and that the
proper funds shall be charged for the use of said equipment, the reasonable
rental value thereof as an item of cost of said work and the Village Engineer
shall keep an accurate record and account of the use and rental of said
equipment and shall include it in any and all reports on the cost of work
done by

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by Member Flannagan and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, Scherer,
and Teresi; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon
said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor
and his signature attested by the Clerk.
