Member Flannagan then introduced and read the following written resolution
and MOVED its adoption:
"RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC
HEARING ON PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT"
(Road running West from Westwood Drive)
BE IT RESOLVED BY the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of
Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to undertake and construct a certain
Public Improvement within the Village as stated in the form of notice in-
cluded in Paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Village Engineer has reported to the Council advising it in a
preliminary way that the proposed public improvement is feasible and that
it should best be made as proposed and not in connection with some other
improvements, and has given his estimated cost of the improvement as follows:
Total cost of Improvement: $3,066.35
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the
form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a
public hearing on the proposed public improvement as described therein.
4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time,
place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks
in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of
such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated August 21, 1958
and the second of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated
August 28, 1958. Such notice shall be in substantially the following form:

ON PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of
Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota will meet on Tuesday, September 2,
1958 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. at 8030 Floyd B. Olson Memorial Highway in said
Village for the purpose of holding a public hearing on a proposed public
improvement.
The Engineer for the Village estimates that the entire cost for the
improvement will be $3,066.35.

The acquisition of land changing and establishing the
grade, grading, graveling, dust abatement treatment
and treatment with bituminous or other materials in
and for a public road to be dedicated and established
along the line of a private road running East and West
and parallel with Glenwood Avenue approximately Eight
Hundred Feet (800) South of Glenwood Avenue.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the pro-
posed improvement, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the author-
ity granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as amended.
All property in the Village which is benefited by the improvement is
proposed to be assessed for such improvement and specifically the following
described tracts of land abutting on said improvement are to be assessed:
(a) Parcel #795 (F. A. Statt). Commencing at the Northeast corner
Of the North One -Half (NJ) of the South One -Half (SJ) of the West One�Half
(WJ) of that part of the Northwest One -Quarter (NWI) of the Northeast One -
Quarter (NEI), Section Thirty (30), Township Twenty-nine (29), Range Twenty-
four (24), lying South of Glenwood Avenue; thence West One Hundred Ten (110)
feet; thence South to a point One Hundred Fifty-two (152) feet North from
the South line thereof; thence East One Hundred Ten (110) feet; thence North
to beginning.
Parcel #793 (Sophie V. Albinson). Commencing One Hundred Ten
(110) feet West of the Northeast corner of the North One Half (NJ) of the
South One Half (SJ) of the West One Half (WI) of that part of the Northwest
One -Quarter '(NWI) of the Northeast One -Quarter (NEI), Section Thirty (30),
Township Twenty-nine (29), Range Twenty-four (24), lying South of Glenwood
Avenue; thence West One Hundred (100) feet; thence South to a point one
Hundred Fifty-two (152) feet North from the South line thereof; thence East

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Member Bies and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereof: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, Scherer and Teresi;
and the following voted against the same: None,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by
the Mayor and his signature attested by the Cleric.
