#024 04-21-59 Provide Hearing Improvements Winnetka Ave 59-BS-6 Etc1 j RESOLUTION NO. 24 April 21, 1959 Member Bies introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS (Winnetka Avenue: 59 -BS -6, 59 -CG -5, 59 -GG -1) BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota as follows: 1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct certain public improvements within the Village as stated in the form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof. 2. The Village Engineer has reported to the Council acvising it in a preliminary way that the proposed public improvements are feasible and that they should best be made as proposed and not in connection with some other improvements, and has given his estimated costs of the improvements as follows: Total cost of improvements: $140,426.59 3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public hearing on the proposed public improvements as described therein. 4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated April 23, 1959, and the second of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated April 30, 1959. Such notice shall be in substantially the following form: VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday, May 5, 1959, at 7:30 o•clock P.M. at 7840 Sixth Avenue North in said Village, for the purpose of holding a public hearing on proposed public improvements. The Engineer for the Village estimates that the entire cost for the improvements will be $140,426.59. The proposed improvements consist of establishing and changing the grade, opening and grading and graveling, installing curb and gutter of concrete or other suitable material, installing surfacing or paving of bituminous or other suitable material, and providing for the drainage of surface waters, in, on and for Winnetka Avenue North from its intersection with Trunk Highway No. 55 northerly to its intersection with Winsdale Street. Resolution No. 24 (continued) April 21, 1959 In conducting said public hearing for making its decisions on the proposed improvements, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as amended. Each of said improvements will be separately considered and separately acted upon. All property within the Village which is benefited by the improvements, including railroad property and railroad rights-of-way, is proposed to be assessed for such improvements as set forth in the description of the improve- ments set forth above. All owners of such property in the areas and abutting upon the street(s) described above are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed public improvements, if any there be.
