Member Bies then introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption:
"RESOLUTION"
(Permission to Build)
WHEREAS, Continental Baking Company has an option to buy a tract known as
the entire twenty-five (25), plus or minus, acres to which Industrial Park
Company now claims ownership, said tract being located at the Northeast
corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Wayzata Boulevard, all located in the Village
of Golden Valley, according to the map referred to as:
"Development Plan -- Wayzata Boulevard (Highway No. 12)
Industrial Area -- Committee Report 8-12-55 to Village
Council of Golden Valley."
which map is made a part hereof by reference; and
WHEREAS, said tract is located within an industrial district as described
in paragraphs 6.01 and 6.02 of the Ordinances of the Village of Golden Valley;
and
WHEREAS, said Continental Baking Company is engaged in the business of making
bread, cake and other bakery products of all kinds; and
WHEREAS, Continental Baking Company plans to erect a building and conduct
such said business at the tract hereinabove referred to; and
WHEREAS, such usage is not within the specifically permitted uses set out
in Paragraph 6.03 of said Ordinance, except as the Council may allow under
subparagraph 20 thereof; and
WHEREAS, Continental Baking Company has not as yet prepared its building
plans and specifications;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That in the opinion of this Village Council the proposed uses by
Continental Baking Company above described are no more obnoxious or detrimental
to the welfare of the community than the other exterprises or business enumerated
in paragraph 6.03 of the Village Ordinances.
2. That upon the presentation to the Village Building Inspector of the
Village of Golden Valley by Continental Baking Company of satisfactory plans and
specifications, which comply with the ordinances of the Village, it is the sense
of the Village Council that a building permit should issue forthwith; and it is
the intent and purpose of the Village Council that full cooperation should be
extended to Continental Baking Company by the Building Inspector and all
personnel of the Village.
3. It is the purpose of this resolution to welcome Continental Baking
Company to the industrial community of Golden Valley and to assure it in every
possible way that the Village will do all in its power to assist and expedite
the plans of the Company.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Member Scherer and upon vote being taken thereon, the following members
voted in favor thereof: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, Scherer, and Teresi; and
the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was
declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature
attested by the Clerk.
