#040 06-06-61 Provide Hearing Imrpovements 61-BS-30 thru 36 EtcResolution No. 40 June 6, 1961 Member Scherer introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS (61 -BS -30, 33, 34, 35, 36; 61 -CG -13, 14; 61 -LF -10) BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct certain proposed public improvements within the Village as stated in the form of notice inclu- ded in paragraph 4 hereof. 2. The Engineer for the Village has reported to the Council advising it in a preliminary way that the proposed public improvements are feasible and that they should best be made as proposed and not in connection with some other improvements, (except that improvement 61 -LF -10 should best be made in connection with such other lateral sanitary sewer projects as may be and constitute part of project no. 61 -LF in the order for construction in 1961) and has given his estimated cost of the improvements as follows: Total Cost of Improvements: $182,283.90 (The estimated cost of each separate improvement is as set forth below). 3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public hearing on the proposed public improvements as described therein. 4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated June 8, 1961, and the second of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated June 15, 1961. Such notice shall be in substantially the following form: NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS (61 -BS -30; 61 -BS -33; 61 -BS -34, 61 -BS -35; 61 -BS -36; 61 -LF -10; 61 -CG -13; 61 -CG -14) NOTICE IS HERESY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on June 20, 1961, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. at the Civic Center, 7800 Golden Valley Road in said Village for the purpose of holding a public hearing on certain proposed public improvements. The Village Engineer estimates that the entire cost of the improvements will be $182,283.90. The areas where said improvements will be constructed and which they will serve and the nature of the improvements are as follows: l W Resolution No. 40 (Continued) B i_ t umino us Surf acing Grading and changing the grade, gravelling and the installation of paving, of bituminous surfacing or other suitable material in providing for surface water drainage in and for the following projects and streets: 6161 -B ----S..-.30: Estimated Cost: $6,121.15 Location: 33rd Avenue North from its intersection with Noble Avenue North to its intersection with Regent Avenue. 61 -BS -33: Estimated Cost: $2,989.98 Location: Zealand Avenue North from its intersection with Plymouth Avenue North to its intersection with Winsdale Street. 61 -BUSY -34: Estimated Cost: $5,457.44 Location: Natchez Avenue from its intersection with Wayzata Boulevard to its intersection with Douglas Avenue. 6135: Estimated Cost: $11,613.99 Location: 10th Avenue North from its intersection with Winnetka Avenue to its intersection with the West line of Becon Addition and Lewis Road in Becon Addition from its intersection with 10th Avenue North to its intersection with 10th Avenue North. .61 -BS -36: , Estimated Cost: $2,824.82 Location: The South Service Drive of Trunk Highway #55, from a point 230 feet West of the East line of the Southwest one-quarter of section 19, Township 29, Range 24, to a point 825 feet West of said East line. Curb and Gutter The installation of curb and gutter of concrete and/or other suitable material in and for the following streets and projects. 61 -CG -13: Estimated Cost: $1,572.11 Location: The -West side of Toledo Avenue from its intersection with Thotland Road to its intersection with the Minnesota Western Railroad right-of-way. 61 -CG -14: Estimated Cost: $1,493.51 Location: The South Service Drive Trunk Highway #55, from a point 300 feet West of the East line of the Southwest one-quarter of Section 19, Township 29, Range 24 to a point 825 feet West of said East line. Sanitary Sewers The installation of lateral sanitary sewers to serve the following -described streets, areas and projects: Resolution No. 40 (Continued) 61 -LF -10: Estimated Cost: $150,210.90 �^ Location: All that part of the North 900 feet of the Northwest one-quarter of Section 18, Township 29, Range 24 lying West of Bassett's Creek; that part of Westbrook Addition lying in Golden Valley and East of Bassett's Creek; also that part of the Southwest one-quarter of Section 7, Township 29, Range 24, lying South of Woodlawn Park 2nd Addition and West of Dawn Acres 1st Addition. In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed improvements, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as=amended. All property within the Village which is benefited by the improvement is proposed to be assessed for such improvements -as set forth in the above description, including all property within the described areas and/or abutting on streets described above and also including all railroad property and railroad rights-of-way located in or abutting on the above-described areas. All owners of such property in the areas and abutting upon the streets described above, are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed public improvements, if any there be.
