#050 07-05-61 Provide Hearing Improvement 61-GG-5E Resolution No. 50 July 5, 1961 Member Bies introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON A CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT (61 -GG -5) BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct a certain proposed public improvement within the Village as stated in the form of notice inclu- ded in Paragraph 4 hereof. 2. The Village Engineer, the engineer designated for the projects, has reported to the Council advising it in a preliminary way that the proposed improvement is feasible and should best be made as proposed and not in connection with any other improvements, and has given its estimated cost of the improvement hereinafter described as follows: Total Cost of Improvement: $30,102.95 3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public hearing on the proposed public improvement as described therein. , 4. The Village Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two success- ive weeks in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated July 20,1961 and the second of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated July 27, 1961. Such notice shall be in substantially the following form: NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT (61 - GG - 5) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on August 1, 1961, at 8:00 o*clock p.m., in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center, 7800 Golden Valley Road, in said Village, for the purpose of holding a public hearing on a certain public improvement; The total estimated cost of said improvement is $30,102,95. Said improvement is as follows: Changing and establishing the grade, grading and gravelling, and making provision for the drainage of surface water in, on, and for the following described streets and streets in and abutting on and serving the following -described areas: Lots 1 and 3, Block 2, Bungalow Terrace; That part of the North 900 feet of the Northwest quarter of Section 18, Township 29, Range 24, lying West of Bassett*s Creek; and M Resolution No. 50 (Continued) That part of the Southwest quarter of Section 7, Township 29, Range 24, lying Southerly and Westerly of Bassett*s Creek. In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed im- provement, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as amended. All property within the Village which is benefitted by the improvement is proposed to be assessed for such improvement as set forth in the above descrip- tion, including all property within the described areas and/or abutting on streets described above and including all railroad property and railroad rights-of-way located in or abutting on the described areas. All owners of such property in the area and abutting on the area and/or streets described above are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed public improvement, if any there be.
