Member Bies introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON
CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
(61 -BS -27, 43, 44; 61-1.r-19; 61 WM-30)
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of
Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct certain proposed public
improvements within the Village as stated in the form of notice included in
Paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Village Engineer, the engineer designated for the projects, has
reported to the Council advising it in a preliminary way that the proposed
improvements are feasible and should best be made as proposed and not in
connection with any other improvements, and has given its estimated cost of
the improvements hereinafter described as follows:
Total cost of improvement: $24,283.80.
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form
of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public
hearing on the proposed public improvements as described therein.
4. The Village Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of
the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive
weeks in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first
of such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated September 21, 19610
and the second of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated
September 28, 1961. Such notice shall be in substantially the following form:
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
(61 -BS -27, 43, 44; 61 -LF -19; 61-WM-30)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on October 3, 1961, at 8:00
o'clock P.M. at the Civic Center, 7800 Golden Valley Road in said Village
for the purposes of holding a public hearing on certain proposed public
improvements.
The Village Engineer estimates that the entire cost of the improvements
is as follows: $24,283.80.
The improvements are as follows:
Bituminous Surfacing
The installation of pavement of bituminous material on or for the
following streets and alleys:

61 -BS -27 Alley adjacent to Lots 9 through 15, inclusive, and
Lot 16 through 22, inclusive, Glenwood Addition.
The estimated cost of this improvement is $1,055.68.
61 -BS -43 Lowry Terrace from its intersection with Orchard
Avenue to its intersection with Quail Avenue.
The estimated cost of this improvement is $2,870.37.
61 -BS -44 Orchard Avenue North from its intersection with
Lowry Terrace at the South line of Spake Addition
to its intersection with Thirty -Third Avenue North.
The estimated cost of this improvement is $2,847.60.
Lateral Sanitary Sewer
The installation of lateral sanitary sewer to serve property abutting
on the following:
61 -LF -19 Jonellen Lane and Valders Avenue in Jonellen Terrace.
The estimated cost of this improvement is $10,515.73.
Water Mains
61 WM-30 Jonellen Lane, Valders Avenue, Twenty -Fifth Avenue
North in Jonellen Terrace, and on Twenty -Fourth
Avenue North from its intersection with Bies Drive
to its intersection with Valders Avenue.
The estimated cost of this improvement is $6,994.42.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the
proposed improvements, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the
authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as amended.
All property within the Village which is benefited by the improve-
ments is proposed to be assessed for such improvements as set forth in the
above descriptions, including all property within the described areas and/or
abutting on streets described above and also including all railroad property
and railroad rights-of-way located in or abutting on the above-described areas.
All owners of such property in the areas and abutting upon the streets
described above, are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and
to make known their objections to such proposed public improvements, if any
there be.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
Member Scherer and, upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereof: Bies, Flannagan, Nadasdy, Scherer, and Teresi;
and the following voted against the same: None,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by
the Mayor, and his signature attested by the Clerk.
