#099 12-19-61 Request Municipal Judges to Serve172 Resolution No. 99 December 19, 1961 Member Flannagan introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption; RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Village of Golden Valley has established a Municipal Court pursuant to Chapter 488 of the Minnesota Statutes; and WHEREAS, in the establishment of said Municipal Court there was no provision for any special judge; and WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity would be enhanced if there were two judges available for the Golden Valley Municipal Court from time to time; and WHEREAS, the Village of Plymouth is in the same situation; and WHEREAS, both Judge William Marlin of the Plymouth Municipal Court and Judge A. Paul Lommen of the Golden Valley Municipal Court assure this Council that there will be no additional costs involved in the use of either judge in the other Court; and WHEREAS, Chief Justice Roger L. Dell of the State of Minnesota has advised that he is willing to make an Order generally directing the municipal judge of each court to serve in the other municipal court as needed, if the councils of the two municipalities request the Chief Justice to do so; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council for the Village of Golden Valley do hereby request Chief Justice Roger L. Dell of the State of Minnesota to direct the municipal judges of Golden Valley and Plymouth to serve, each in the other's court, as needed.
