#105 01-16-62 Provide Hearing Improvements 62-WMT1 r� Resolution No. 105 January 16, 1962 Member Scherer introduced and read the following written resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON A CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT (Water Main Trunks and Facilities for Water Supply and Storage, Project No. 62 W.M.T.) BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct a certain proposed public improvement within the Village as stated in the form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof. 2. The Engineers for the Village (Orr-Schelen-Mayeron and Associates, Inc.) have reported to the Council advising it in a preliminary way that the proposed public improvement is feasible and that it should best be made as proposed and not in connection with some other improvement, and have given their estimated cost of the improvement as follows: Total Cost of Improvement: $2,565,300.00. 3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of notice included in paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public hearing on the proposed public improvement as described therein. 4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published for four successive weeks in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated January 18, 1962, and the last of said publications to be in the paper dated February 8, 1962. Such notice shall be in substantially the following form: NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON A CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT (Water Main Trunks and Facilities for Water Supply and Storage Project No. 62 W.M.T.) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on February 13, 1962, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. at the Civic Center, 7800 Golden Valley Road in said Village for the purpose of holding a public hearing on a certain proposed public improvement, consisting of the construction and installation of water main trunks and facilities for water supply and storage, land acquisitions therefor, and subsequent street repair and replacement. The Engineers estimate that the cost of the improvement will be $295659300.00. on Florida Avenue from Golden Valley Road to its inter- section with Olympia Street; on Golden Valley Road from its intersection with Florida Avenue to a point approximately 350 feet East of the East Right -of -.Way Line of the Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern Railroad; on Lindsay Street from its intersection with Trunk Highway No. 100 to the West Line of Lindsay*s Addition; on Thotland Road from its intersection with Trunk Highway No. 100 to its intersection with Angelo Drive; and Parcels 5420, 5410, 1635, 6800, 9000, 604, and 3400 of Section 33, Township 118, Range 21. 182 Resolution No. 105 (Continued) In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed improvement, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as amended. All properties within the Village which abut on the above streets and easements where the water trunk mains will be placed and which are benefited by the improvement are proposed to be assessed for such improvement; including all railroad property and railroad rights-of-way and public property located in or abutting on the above-described streets, lines and areas. Such properties will be assessed on account of the lateral water main benefit conferred by such improvement. All owners of such property are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed public improvement, if any there be.
