Member Scherer introduced and read the following written resolution and
MOVED its adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING
ON CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
(Lateral Water Main Improvements No. 62-
WM-4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 13, 16, 18, 19, 22,
23, 32, 33, 35, 37, and 39)
BE IT RESOLVED By the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley, Minnesota, as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws
of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct certain proposed
public improvements within the Village as stated in the form of notice
included in Paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Engineer for the Village has reported to the Council advising
it in a.preliminary way that the proposed public improvements are feasible
and that they should best be made as proposed and not in connection with
some other improvement, and has given his estimated cost of the improve-
ments as follows:
Total Cost of Improvement: $397,979.57.
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the
form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding
a public hearing on the proposed public improvements as described therein.
4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time,
place and purpose of said meeting to be published for four successive weeks
in the Suburban Press, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of
said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated January 18, 1962,
and the last of said publications to be in the paper dated February 8, 1962.
Such notice shall be in substantially the following form:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on February 13, 1962, at 7:30
o*clock P.M. at the Civic Center, 7800 Golden Valley Road in said Village
for the purpose of holding a public hearing on certain proposed public im-
provements, consisting of the construction and installation of Lateral Water
Main Improvements and subsequent street repair and replacement.

The Engineer estimates that the cost of the improvements will be
$3979979.57.
The areas where said improvements will be constructed and which
they will serve are as follows:

South Cortlawn Circle to its intersection with West
Cortlawn Circle; on South Cortlawn Circle from its

Circle from the South Line of Cortlawn Addition, 2nd
Section to its intersection with Western Avenue; and
on Edgewood Avenue South from its intersection with
Glenwood Avenue to the South Line of Cortlawn Addition.

On Circle Down from its intersection with Turner's
Crossroad to its intersection with Wayzata Boulevard.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the
proposed improvements, the Village Council proposes to proceed under
the authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953, as
amended.
All property within the Village which is benefited by the improve-
ments is proposed to be assessed for such improvements as set forth in

the above descriptions, including all property within the described areas
and/or abutting on streets or lines described above and including all
railroad property and railroad rights-of-way and public property located
in or abutting on the above-described streets, lines and areas.
All owners of such property in the areas and abutting upon the
streets or lines described above, are hereby notified to be present at
said public hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed
public improvements, if any there be.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by Member Teresi and, upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Bies, Flannagan, Scherer, and Teresi;
and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolu-
tion was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his
signature attested by the Clerk.
