Member Teresi introduced and read the following written resolution and
MOVED its adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON
CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
(63-wn-55, 63, 64, 68)
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions sof Chapter 398, Session
Laws of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposes to construct
certain public improvements -within the Village as stated in
the form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof.
4. The Village Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice
of the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published
for two successive weeks in the Suburban Press, the official
newspaper of the Village, the first of such publications to be
in the issue of said paper dated March 28, 1963, and the second
of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated
April 4, 1963. Such notice shall be in substantially the
following form:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the
Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet
on April 16, 1963 at 8:00 o'clock p.m. at the Civic Center, 7800
Golden Valley Road in said Village for the purpose of holding a
public hearing on certain proposed public improvements, consisting
of the construction and installation of Lateral Water Main Improve
ments and subsequent street repair and replacement.
2. The Village Engineer, the engineer designated for the
project, has reported to the Council, advising it in a pre-
liminary way that the proposed water main improvements are
feasible and should best be made as proposed and in connection
with such other water main projects as may be and constitute
part of Project No. 63 -WMT and 63-14ML, and be ordered for con-
struction in 1963, and has given its estimated cost of the
improvements hereinafter described as follows:
Total Improvements: $50,928,74.

3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified
in the form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof for the
purpose of holding a public hearing on the proposed water
main improvements as described therein.

The Engineer estimates that the cost of the improvements
will be :50,928.74.
The Areas where said improvements will be constructed
and which they will serve are as follows:
All lots, tracts, or parcels of land abutting on the
following described streets and/or legally described lines:
63-WM-55: On Kelly Drive from T.H. No. 55 to Glenwood
Ave.; On Glenwood Ave. from Kelly Drive to
6th Ave. No.
63-WM-63: On a North-South easement in Hippts Graceful
Plaza Add. from St. Croix Ave. to C.S.A.H.
No. 66; On C.S.A.H. No. 66 from T.H. No. 100
to Bassett's Creek.
63-WM-64: On Bassettfs Creek Drive from Dresden Lane to
Mary Hills Drive.
63-WM-68: On 26th Ave. No. from Zenith Ave. to Xerxes Ave.;
On Xerxes Ave. from 26th Ave. No. to Vista Drive.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on
the proposed improvements, the Village Council proposed to proceed
under the authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws for 1953,
as amended.
All property within the Village which is benefited by the im-
provements is proposed to be assessed for such improvements as sett
forth in the above description, including all property within the
described areas and/or abutting on streets or lines described above
and including all railroad property and railroad rights-of-way and
public property located in or abutting on the above described streets,
lines and areas.
All owners of such property in the areas and abutting upon the
streets or lines described above, are hereby notified to be present
at said public hearing and to make known their objections to such
proposed public improvements, if any there be.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
Member Schaphorst and, upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereof: Flannagan, Nadasdy, Schaphorst, Scherer, and Teresi; and the
following voted against the same; None, whereupon said resolution was declared
duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the
Village Clerk.
