#279 07-16-63 Provide Public Hearing Public Improvement Rhode Island Avenue114 Resolution No. 279 July 16, 1963 Member Teresi introduced and read the following written resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON A CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT (63 -CG -12, Rhode Island Avenue portion, only) BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398, Session Laws of Minnesota, 1963, this Council proposes to construct a certain curb and gutter improvement (63 -CG -12, Rhode Island Avenue portion, only) within the Village, as stated in the form of notice included in Paragraph hereof. 2. The Village Engineer, the engineer designated for the project, has reported to the Council advising it in a preliminary way that the proposed improvement is feasible and should best be made as proposed and in connection with such other improvements as may be and constitute part of 63 -CG, and be ordered for construction in 1963, and has given its estimated cost of the improvement hereinafter described as follows: Total cost of improvement: 36,977.66. 3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public hearing on the proposed improvement as described therein. 4. The Village Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks in the St. Louis Park Dispatch, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of such publications to be in the issue of said paper dated July 18, 1963, and the second of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated July 25, 1963• Such notice shall be in substantially the following form: NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED CURB AND GUTTER 63 CG 12 (Rhode Island) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County Minnesota, will meet on August 6, 1963, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. at the Civic Center, 7800 Golden Valley Road in said Village for the purpose of holding a public hearing on certain proposed public improvements. The Village Engineer estimates that the entire cost of the improve- ments will be 361 977.66. Resolution No. 2?9 July 16, 1963 The area where said improvements will be constructed and which they will serve are as follows: 63 CG 12 Estimated Cost `977,66 Location: On Rhode Island Ave. from Duluth Street to Olympia Avenue. In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the Proposed improvements, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws of 1953, as amended. All property within the Village which is benefited by the improvements is proposed to be assessed for such improvements as set forth in the above description, including all property within the described areas and/or abutting on streets or lines described above and including all railroad property and railroad rights-of-way and public property located in or abutting on the above described streets, lines and areas. All owners of such property in the areas and abutting upon the streets or lines described above, are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed public improve- ments, if any there be.
