#014 03-02-65 Approve Dilapidate Building Bill18 Resolution No.14 March 2, 1965 Member Flannagan introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION (Dilapidated Building Bill) WHEREAS, the Village of Golden Valley is concerned with the problem of existing dilapidated buildings and structures which constitute a fire, safety or health hazard and excavations which are dangerous or attractive nuisances in said village; and WHEREAS, there is a lack of statutory authority for the Village of Golden Valley to order the destruction, repair or removal of dilapidated buildings or structures, and the filling or protection of dangerous ex- cavations; and WHEREAS, there is no express statutory authority to specially assess the cost of demolition, destruction, repair or removal of dilapidated buildings or structures, and the filling or protection of dangerous ex- cavations when done by the Village of Golden Valley or its agents; Naq THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Golden Valley ENDORSES House File #246 relating to dilapidated buildings and dangerous excavations and urges passage of said bill by the 1965 Legislature. Passed by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley this 2nd day of March, 1965.
