Resolution No. 142
March 15, 1966
Member Schaphorst introduced the following resolution and MOVED its
adoption:
RESOLUTION
(Redistricting)
WHEREAS, the Village of Golden Valley is already divided by three
school districts, two of which are mostly outside of the village; and
WHEREAS, the Village is divided geographically by two major highways; and
WHEREAS, such divisions are harmful to the Village; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley that
it is unalterably opposed to any further division by legislative political
redistricting of the Village of Golden Valley.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by Member Flannagan, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Flannagan, Garis, Schaphorst, and Teresi; and the
following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared
duly passed and adopted signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by
the Village Clerk.
