#150 04-19-66 Approve Metropolitan Transit CommissionResolution No. 150 April 19, 1966 Member Flannagan introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION (METROPOLITAN TRANSIT COMMISSION) 14IEREAS, there is no present organization which can deal effectively with the mass transit problems of the seven county metropolitan area; and UREAS, other municipalities have indicated an interest in establishing a temporary transit authority to serve until statutory provisions can be made; and WHEREAS, the participation of a majority of municipalities in the Twin Cities area is desirable for the organization of a temporary transit authority under the provisions of the Joint Powers Act; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of Golden Valley that the proper Village officers be authorized to execute the Joint and Cooperative Agreement, as amended, and that Golden Valley participate in the Metropolitan Transit Commission. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Schaphorst, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following members voted in favor thereof: Flannagan, Nadasdy, Schaphorst, and Teresi; and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Village Clerk. n
