Member Stockman introduced the following resolution and MOVED its
adoption:
RESOLUTION
(Authorizing the Purchase of Certain Real Estate -
Jones - Lamphere Property)
WHEREAS, it appears that certain real estate more particularly described
below is needed for public purposes, specifically for ponding and drainage
rights, and
WHEREAS, it appears that said property can be acquired through negotiated
purchase at a price of Thirty two Thousand Dollars ($32,000), and
WHEREAS, said negotiated price referenced above appears to be reasonable
and equitable so that condemnation proceedings would not be warrented under
the circumstances, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley
that certain realestate legally described as
"The North one-half (;!�) of the North one-half (;!�) of the Southwest
one-quarter (4) of the Northwest one-quarter (4) of Section 29, Township
118, Range 21, Hennepin County, Minnesota"
is hereby ordered to be purchased and the Mayor and the Village Clerk are
hereby authorized and directed to execute the necessary papers in connection
with the acquisition of said real estate, the price to be paid therefore to
be the sum of Thirty-two Thousand Dollars ($32,000), it appearing to this
governing body that said property is necessary and desirable for the public
purposes hereinabove set forth:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the acquisition of said property herein-
above described is authorized on the basis of a Contract for Deed to be
entered into between the Village of Golden Valley as Vendee and the present
legal owners of said property as Vendors, said contract to be payable as
follows:
$ 9,500 at the time of closing
$115250 in January, 1968, and
$11,250 in January, 1969, together with interest on the unpaid
principal balance from time to time remaining at six per cent
(6%) per annum.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded
by Member Garis, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereof: Flannagan, Gnris, Stockman, and Teresi; and the following
voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared
duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested
by the Clerk.
