#393 02-07-68 Sale of City PropertyResolution No. 393 February 7, 1968 Member Carlson introduced and read the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION (Authorizing the Sale of Certain Property Now Owned by the Village of Golden Valley) WHEREAS, it appears that the following described property now owned by the Village of Golden Valley, to -wit: The West 308 feet of North 1/4 of Southwest 1/4 of Northwest 1/4 of Section 29, Township 118, Range 21, Subject to and easement for street over the West 33 feet thereof. That part of Outlot 1, Tyree Addition, lying West of a line parallel with and 275 feet East of the East line of Winnetka Avenue North, Hennepin County, Minnesota, is no longer needed by the Village for public purposes, inasmuch as the same serves no valid public use at the present time and does not appear feasible for public use in the future, and WHEREAS, it appears that said property as more specifically described in the preceding paragraph is now lying vacant without being used by the Village and that the Village is receiving no tax revenue therefrom, and WHEREAS, it appears that said property as hereinabove described was not acquired by dedication and is not held in trust in any way, and WHEREAS, it appears that it would be in the best interests of the Village of Golden Valley to sell and convey said property for a valuable consideration, and WHEREAS, the Village has received a negotiated offer to purchase said property from HOWARD H. TYREE for the sum of Six Thousand Four and No Hundredths Dollars ($6,400.00), or property of equivalent value, which offer appears to be a fair and reasonable consideration for said property, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley that inasmuch as the property hereinabove described was not acquired by dedication and is not held in trust in any way, the same be, and hereby is, declared to be no longer needed for public purposes, and the proper officers of the Village are hereby authorized and instructed that in consideration for the sum of Six Thousand Four Hundred and No Hundredths Dollars ($6,490.00), or property of equiva- lent value, by negotiated offer received in connection with said property, said officers are to deed and convey said property as hereinabove described to the aforesaid Howard H. Tyree.
