Member Bies introduced and read the following written resolution and MOVED
its adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING
ON CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
(Proposed Storm Sewer - 68 SS 2)
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398 Session Laws of
Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposed to construct certain proposed public
improvements within the Village as stated in the form of notice included in
Paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Engineer for the Village has reported to the Council advising
it in a preliminary way that the proposed public improvements are feasible
and that they should best be made as proposed and not in connection with
some other improvements, and has given his estimated cost of the improvements
as follows:
$153,892.61
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the
form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding
a public hearing on the proposed public improvements as described therein.
4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time,
place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks
in THE GOLDEN VALLEY PRESS, the official newspaper of the Village, the first
of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated March 7, 1968,
and the last of said publications to be in the issue of March 14, 1968.
Such notice shall be in substantially the following form:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on March 19, 1968 at 7:30 P.M.
in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center, 7800 Golden Valley Road, in
said Village for the purpose of holding a public hearing on a proposed public
improvement.
The Village Engineer estimates that the entire cost of the improvement will
be $153,892.61
The type of improvement and the areas where said improvement will be con-
structed and which it serves is as follows:

All that part of the west one-half (W 1/2) of Section 31, Township 118,
Range 21, lying between the North right-of-way line of Trunk Highway No -55
and the centerline of the Minnesota Western Railroad right-of-way and East
of a line that is parallel with and 735.05 feet east of the west line of
Section 31, Township 118, Range 21, together with Lots 2,3,4,5,6,7 and.8
"Bus'chs' ' Golden Valley Acres"; together with all that part of the Minnesota
Western Railroad right-of-way lying north of and adjacent to lots 2,3,4,5
and 6, "Buschs:t Golden Valley Acres" and south of the centerline of said
Railroad right-of-way; together with the west 445.0 feet of Lots 9 and 11,
"Buschs' Golden Valley Acres"; and the west 445.0 feet of that part of the
Southeast one-quarter (SE 1/4) of Section 31, Township 118, Range 21, lying
north of the north right=of-way line of Trunk Highway No. 55; Hennepin
County, Minnesota.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed
improvements, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the authority
granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws of 1953, as amended.
All property within the Village which is benefited by the improvements is
proposed to be assessed for such improvements as set forth in the above
description, including all property within the described areas and/or
abutting on streets or lines described above and including all railroad
property and railroad rights of way and public property located in or
abutting on the above described streets, lines and areas.
All owners of such property in the areas and abutting upon the streets or
lines described above, are hereby notified to be present at said public
hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed public improve-
ments, if any there be.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Member Carlson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted
in favor thereof: Bies, Carlson, Garis, Stockman, and Teresi; and the
following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was
declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature
attested by the Clerk.
