Member Garis introduced and read the following written resolution and
MOVED its adoption:
RESOLUTION
Authorizing the Acquisition by Purchase or Condemnation
of
Lot 34, Auditor's Subdivision No. 360
WHEREAS, it appears that it is necessary and desirable to acquire
the real estate hereinafter described for public purposes to be and
become a part of the Civic Center of the Village of Golden Valley, which
lands may be used as a site or portion of such site for the construction
of a public library building; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said real estate has a fair and reasonable
market value not to exceed Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000); and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of said real estate through direct pur-
chase or condemnation appears to be desirable and reasonable, NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley that that certain real estate described as Lot 34 Auditor's Sub-
division No. 360, Hennepin County, Minnesota, be acquired by purchase
or condemnation and the Mayor, the Village Clerk and Village Attorney
are hereby authorized and directed to take all necessary steps and to
execute the necessary documents in connection with the acquisition of
said real estate, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the acquisition of the above described
lands is necessary and desirable and the purposes aforesaid for which
said lands are to be acquired are a proper and necessary public purpose.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded
by Member Carlson, and upon vote being taken thereon the following
voted in favor thereofi Carlson, Garis, and Teresi; and the following
voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared
duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested
by the Clerk
