#440 06-04-68 Approve Bituminous Surfacing 68-BS-32 Leber Lane254 Resolution No. 440 June 4, 1968 Member Bies introduced and read the following written resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS (Proposed Bituminous Surfacing - 68 BS 32, 33, and 34) BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 398 Session Laws of Minnesota, 1953, this Council proposed to construct certain proposed public improvements within the Village as stated in the form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof. 2. The Engineer for the Village has reported to the Council advising it in a preliminary way that the proposed public improvements are feasible and that they should best be made as proposed and not in connection with some other improvements, and has given his estimated cost of the improvements as follows: $11,341.14 3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public hearing on the proposed public improvements as described therein. 4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks in THE GOLDEN VALLEY SUN, the official newspaper of the Village, the first of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated July 3, 1968, and the last of said publications to be in the issue dated July 11, 1968. Such notice shall be in substantially the following form: NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS 68BS, 68BS33, 68BS34 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on July 16, 1968, at 8 P.M. at the Civic Center, in the Council Chambers, 7800 Golden Valley Road, in said Village for the purP9se of holding a public hearing on certain public improvements. The Village Engineer estimates the entire cost of the proposed improve- ments will be $11,341.14. 1 Resolution No. 440 June 4, 1968 The type of improvements and areas where said improvements will be con- structed and which they serve are as follows: BITUMINOUS SURFACING NUMBER ON FROM TO 68BS32 Leber Lane Meadow Lane Cul-de-sac 68BS33 Phoenix Street Douglas Drive Hampshire Ave. 68BS34 Thotland Road T H No. 100 Toledo Avenue In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed improvements, the Village Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by Chapter 398, Minnesota Laws of 1953, as amended. All property within the Village which is benefited by the improvements is proposed to be assessed for such improvements as set forth in the above description including all property within the described areas and/or abutting on streets or lines described above and.including all railroad property and railroad rights-of-way and public property located in or abutting on the above described streets, lines and areas. All owners of such property in the areas and abutting upon the streets or lines described above area hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed public improve- ments, if any there be.
