#461 07-16-68 Approve North Star Radio SurveyResolution No. 461 July 16, 1968
Member Garis introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption:
"RESOLUTION"
WHEREAS North Star Research and Development Institute has completed
a comprehensive police radio survey and system design for the County of
Hennepin and all of its component communities and,
WHEREAS it is to the mutual benefit of each governmental unit to
have maximum emergency communication capacity to serve the needs of
law enforcement and,
'WHEREAS the North Star report and subsequent discussion has proposed
a formula for the implementation and financing of the system,
WHEREAS the County of Hennepin agrees to purchase the central inter-
system base station equipment and all of the mobile units to be utilized
by the participating jurisdictions and,
WHEREAS each of the participating communities will purchase base
station equipment for local dispatching requirements,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the system design and proposed
equipment configuration as outlined in the report of the North Star
Research and Development Institute be accepted in principle and that the
staff of each of the participants be directed to continue the planning
endeavor preparatory to the issuance of formal plans and specifications.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Member Stockman, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted
in favor thereof: Bies, Carlson, Garis, Stockman, and Teresi; and the
following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was
declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature
attested by the Village Clerk. See Resolutions Book page
