#008 03-04-69 Approve Manager Vacation ScheduleResolution No. 8 March 4, 1969 Member Carlson introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: "RESOLUTION" WHEREAS, Barkley Omans has been engaged as Village Manager of Golden Valley, and, WHEREAS, certain vacation and sick leave rights are surrendered at Albert Lea in accepting this new employment, and, WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Village Council to provide an equitable policy for such professional employee. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: (1) Vacation shall be granted three weeks annually commencing in 1969 and shall be entered as of March 1, 1969, and each anniversary thereafter. Vacation timing up to one week may be approved by the Mayor. Vacation of one week or more shall be subject to con- currence of the Vil,lage Council. (2) Sick leave shall be earned at the same rate as other village employees; however, the manager is engaged on a yearly salary basis and the general personnel resolution shall not foreclose the council from consideration of maintaining salary during the first two years of employment during a major illness or need of sick leave. Any such sick leave will be considered on its own merits and the judge- ment of the council shall be conclusive. (3) In all other matters, the village personnel policies shall apply to the Village Manager the same as other village employees, except the Village Council shall make judgment decision, interpret and admin- ister personnel rules as they apply to the Village Manager. (4) The Village Manager shall keep the Mayor advised of his whereabouts if away from the community on village business or meetings more than one working day; and such business trips, conferences, or meetings of more than one working day shall be subject to approval of the Mayor or acting Mayor as the case may be. Further, that publication of this resolution be dispensed with. �&" axw�' Mayor Attest: Village Clerk M 10 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Bies, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Bies, Carlson, Stockman, and Teresi; and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Village Clerk.
