#011 04-01-69 Approve Police StudyResolution No. 11 April 1, 1969
Member Carlson introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption:
RESOLUTION - POLICE STUDY
WHEREAS the Village Council desires to survey the operations of the
Police Department, determine future policy and resource allotment, plan
for the future needs of the department and provide constructive guidance
for a continuing efficient police service in the community, and
WHEREAS it appears that professional outside, independent and objective
advice on the police organization is a worthwhile investment in maintaining
and planning a department, and
WHEREAS it is Council policy that consulting service should include
community involvement to obtain the maximum benefits of such consulting
service,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Manager obtain information on con-
sulting service available for a study and the costs thereof;
FURTHER, that an advisory committee to the Village Council be est-
ablished to work with the consultant in this area of the study and
possible future implementation of the study,
FURTHER, that the Village Council consider the establishment of
other advisory committees to work with the consultant on other study phases
which may profit from community viewpoint and involvment.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
Member Garis, and upon vote being taken thereon the following members voted
in favor thereof: Bies, Carlson, Garis, and Teresi; and the following voted
against the same: Stockman, whereupon said resolution was declared duly
passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the
Village Clerk.
