#110 01-19-70 Approve Traffic Signals Winnetka Ave N162 Resolution No. 110 January 19, 1970 Member Paulson introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION STRESSING THE URGENCY FOR LOCATION OF WHERE THE TRAFFIC SIGNALS WILL GO AND DESIGN THE TRAFFIC SIGNALS ON WINNETKA TO BREAK UP THE TRAFFIC WHEREAS, The improvement of Winnetka by Hennepin County between Winsdale and Medicine Lake Road and improvements being made north of Golden Valley have increased the traffic speed and volume of Winnetka Avenue, and WHEREAS, The wider street, traffic speed and volume cause considerable difficulty for traffic from side streets to get on to Winnetka. for traffic to cross Winnetka and for pedestrians to cross Winnetka, and WHEREAS, It is imperative that the traffic be broken up into blocks of cars to facilitate other pedestrian traffic movements and to control the speed of traffic on Winnetka, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Village Council request the Hennepin County Highway Department to initiate studies and make recommendations on the location of traffic signals on Winnetka within Golden Valley as soon as possible, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That Hennepin County be requested to design and place traffic signals at the earliest possible date. Mayor Attest: Acting Village Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Bies, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following members voted in favor thereof: Bies, Paulson, Stockman and Teresi; the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor, and his signature attested by the Acting Clerk. 1
