#148 06-01-70 Approve Construction 70-SI-1 Thru 9"Lo 2 Resolution No. 148 June i, 1970 Member Jensen introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING MANNER OF CONSTRUCTION (Proposed Bituminous Surfacing - 70 -SI -1,4,6,8,&9) WHEREAS, the Village Engineer has prepared plans and specifications for the above proposed public improvement construct- ion and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for its approval; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley: 1. That all of such plans and specifications are hereby approved. 2. That with respect to all of the public improvements referenced above, excepting therefrom only those noted below, the Village Clerk shall prepare an Advertisement for Bids for making such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall bepublished as required by statute, shall specify the work to be done and shall state the time and place that the bids shall be opened and considered by the Village Manager and Village Clerk. 3. That there is hereby excepted from the force and effect of the foregoing resolution the following public improvements: 70 -SI -2 On Rhode Island Avenue North from 23rd Avenue North to Medicine Lake Rd. 4. That as respects the following public improvements: 70 -SI -1 70 -SI -6 70 -SI -9) Bituminous Surfacing Only 70 -SI -4 70 -SI -8 ) it is hereby jound and determined that the Village of Golden Valley has sufficient equipment to carry on the work necessary for said improvements. It is hereby directed that said equipment be used for said work and that the appropriate funds shall be charged for the use of said equipment and the reasonable rental value thereof as the cost of said work, and the Village Engineer shall keep an accurate record and account of the use and rental of said equip- ment and of materials used and of work done and shall include it on any and all reports on the cost of work done by day labor under the provisions of the resolution. Therefore, the Village Engineer shall proceed under the direction of the Village Manager to carry on all work in connection with said improvement, in accord- ance with the plans and specifications hereinabove approved. 1 Resolution No. 148 June 1, 1970 5. That as respects the following public improvements: None the same does not, on the same price basis, exceed twenty-five percent (25%) of the original contract price of that certain contract entered into on , 19 , with for public improvements awarded on a unit price basis with a total contract amount of $ Therefore, the Mayor and the Village Manager are hereby authorized to change the contract of 19 , with for public improvements so as to include the additional units of work at the same unit price providing for the construction of public improvements when the said contractor shall have furnished the contractor's bond in the amount of the additional work as required by law.
