Member Jensen introduced and read the following written resolution and
MOVED its adoption:
RESOLUTION
(Authorizing the Acquisition of Certain Property by Purchase)
(Part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter,
Section 18, Township 29 North, Range 24 West, Village of
Golden Valley)
WHEREAS, it appears that it is necessary and desirable to acquire
the real estate hereinafter described for park and drainage purposes, and
WHEREAS,the acquisition of said real estate through direct purchase
appears to be desirable and reasonable, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley that that certain real estate described below be acquired by purchase
and that the Mayor, the Village Clerk, the Village Manager and the Village
Attorney are all hereby authorized and directed to take all necessary steps
and to execute the necessary documents in connection with the acquisition of
said real estate, described as follows, to wit:
That part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast
Quarter (NE -1-4 - NE 4), Section 18, Township 29 North,
Range 24 West, Village of Golden Valley, Hennepin
County, Minnesota, described as follows: -
Commencing at the Southeast corner of the NE4 -
NE4; thence West along the South line thereof
294.01 feet; thence at an angle to the right of
47 degrees and 50 minutes, a distance of 509.34
feet; thence Northwesterly on a tangential curve
to the left with a radius of 335 feet, a dis-
tance of 214.97 feet to the Actual Point of
Beginning; - thence continuing along said cirve
515.89 feet; thence on a tangential to the left
with a radius of 445.96 feet, a distance of
218.00 feet; thence South 15 degrees 10 minutes
30 seconds East, a distance of 11.66 feet to the
South line of NFh- - NE14; thence West along the
South line of said NE4 - ME' -4, a distance of 93.9
feet to the Southwest corner thereof; thence
North along the West line of said NE' -4 - NE=4j to
the Northwest corner thereof; thence East along
the North line of said NE4 - NE,4-, to a point 555.0
feet West from the Westerly line of the Railroad
Right of Way; thence South 00 degrees, 08 minutes
West, a distance of 155.00 feet; thence South 06
degrees 10 minutes 50 seconds East, a distance of
246.7 feet; thence South 23 degrees 20 minutes East,
a distance of 320.0 feet; thence South 17 degrees
39 minutes West, a distance of 135.52 feet, to the
actual point of beginning.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that acting for and on behalf of the
Village the various Village officials referred to above are hereby auth-
orized to pay for such property a total cash sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars
(15,000.00),
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the acquisition of the above described
land is necessary and desirable and the purposes aforesaid for which said
lands are to be acquired are a proper and necessary public purpose.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by
Member Paulson and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in
favor thereof: Bies, Jensen Paulson, and Teresi; and the following voted
against the same; None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed
and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Clerk.
