#254 06-21-71 Participate Grant Program Mobile Teleprinters Police CarsResolution No. 254 June 21, 1971 Member Hoover introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION (Authorizing Golden Valley Participation In the Hennepin County Grant Program For Mobile Teleprinters In Police Cars) WHEREAS, Hennepin County is submitting an application for a Federal Grant under the Discretionary Grant Program, Title 1, Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 for upgrading the present Police and Sheriff radio communication system to include mobile teleprinter operation; and WHEREAS, the various law enforcement jurisdictions in Hennepin County will be participating in the use of the proposed system: BE IT RESOLVED that the Village of Golden Valley will participate in the system in accordance with the provisions contained in the Federal Grant Program and will participate in the cost sharing of the system in accordance with the estimated cost as indicated in the attached information sheet as follows: The Resolution is participation in a mobile teleprinter. The Hennepin County Sheriff is submitting an application for a federal grant for the upgrading of police and sheriff radio communication system to include mobile teleprinters in the squad cars. As we rent our radios through the Hennepin County Sheriff, it is also mandatory that we join in on the change. The change in itself would stand on its own as a worthwhile project. Our cost on this would be $1,502 per year over a five-year period, after which the equipment costs will have been amortized. It is estimated that there would be a 50% federal sharing. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that should Federal funds be reduced or eliminated it is understood that local yearly costs to each user will be increased in the same proportion as the percentage of reduction of Federal funds. This resolution passed on the 21st day of June, 1971. Mayor. Attest: Village Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Ulstad, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following members voted in favor thereof: Hoover, Paulson, Teresi, and Ulstad; and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor, and his signature attested by the Village Clerk.
