#268 08-16-71 Interstate 394 Corridor Study74 Resolution No. 268 August 16, 1971 Member Paulson introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION (Interstate 394 Corridor Study) WHEREAS the Golden Valley Village Council did on May 1, 1971 receive a Phase I Report from the Minnesota Highway Department consultants on study of an Interstate 394 Corridor, and WHEREAS the economic, social and environmental impact of these proposals have been studied by both the Village Council and the Village Planning Commission in reference to Golden Valley, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Golden Valley Council is opposed to the designation of any divided highway on new right-of-way within Golden Valley which is already cut up by four major divided highways within its village limits; FURTHER, that the Village Council of Golden Valley request that the State Highway Department not construct Interstate 394 as presently planned in the alternates in the Phase I Report through the Village of Golden Valley; FURTHER, that the Highway Department, Metropolitan Council and Metropolitan Transit Commission send representatives to meet with the Village officials from Golden Valley and other communities in the so-called Western Transportation Corridor to fully explore and determine the needs of the citizens for a transportation system in this area and how these needs should be met. Passed this 16th day of August, 1971, by the Village Council. Mayor Attest: Village Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Hoover, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following members voted in favor thereof: Hoover, Paulson, Stockman, Teresi, and Ulstad; and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor, and his signature attested by the Clerk. 1
