Member Paulson introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption:
RESOLUTION
(Authorizing the application for federal grant
from the Environmental Protection Agency)
WHEREAS, the Village Council, with the assistance of the Village staff
and the Village°_sConsulting Engineer, Barr Engineering Col of Minneapolis,
Minnesota, has been engaged in a study and review of the feasibility of
attempting to treat storm waters discharging into lakes, streams, ponds, and
the like, within the Village of Golden Valley; and
WHEREAS, it appears that such a project may involve some rather extensive
considerations and potentially considerable expense, and that federal funds may
be available for the purpose of in part offsetting or mitigating the extent
to which Village funds would be required for such project;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of
Golden Valley that it hereby authorizes its Mayor and its Village Manager to
make to the Environmental Protection Agency of the Federal Government an
"APPLICATION FOR RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT AND DEMJNSTRATION GRANT FOR EVALUATION
OF A SAND FILTRATION BASIN FOR THE TREATMENT OF URBAN STORM WATER RUNOFF
WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY", in the form as prepared by the
Golden Valley Village Engineer and the Village's Engineering Consultant,
Barr Engineering Co. of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by
Member Hoover, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor
thereof: Hoover, Paulson, Riggs and Ulstad; and the following voted against
the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted,
signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Village Clerk.
