#463 12-04-72 Request Improve Noise Levels on TH 12Resolution No. 463 December 4, 1972
Member Paulson introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption:
RESOLUTION
(Requesting State Highway Department to
Improve Noise Levels on Highway #12)
WHEREAS, There seems to be an increasing noise level on Highway #12, and
WHEREAS, A visual inspection and driving experience indicates that pavement
deterioration may be a major factor in the noise level, and
WHEREAS, Recent studies in connection with I-394 seem to indicate that
Highway #12 noise levels are above the Federal standards for such noise levels
(comparable to those on I-3519 on which noise abatement procedures are being
instituted),
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Village Council of Golden Valley
request the State Highway Department to make tests if necessary, to visually
inspect the pavement roughness and to schedule resurfacing or other means which
will reduce the traffic noise effect on the livability adjacent to Highway #12.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
Member Hoover, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following members voted
in favor thereof: Hoover, Paulson, Riggs, Stockman,Ulstad; and the following
voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed
and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Village Clerk.
