#496 03-05-73 Urge Legislature Caring for the Poor�J Resolution No. 496 March S, 1973 Member Bix introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The Village of Golden Valley has participated with twenty-two' other metropolitan area suburbs in the Suburban Hennepin County Relief Board for many years, and WHEREAS, the Suburban Hennepin County Relief Board has adequately admini- stered the direct relief needs of the citizens of Golden Valley for many years on an economical basis with very low overhead, and WHEREAS, Senate File Number 410 would, by changing to the County Relief System, increase tremendously the welfare costs to Golden Valley taxpayers; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Mayor and Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley urge Senators and Representatives to take any action possible to preserve the Township System of caring for the poor in the County of Hennepin. f X�� Attest:" Mayor i illage Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Ulstad, and upon vote being taken thereon the following members voted in favor thereof: Bix, Hoover, Moberg, Riggs, and Ulstad; and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Village Clerk.
