Resolution No. 581 October 1, 1973
Member Moberg introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption:
RESOLUTION
(Requesting Traffic Study - Duluth Street)
WHEREAS, the apparent increase in vehicular traffic in the area of
State Highway No. 100 and Duluth Street in the Village of Golden Valley indicates
a possible need for alterations and improvements of traffic controls and street
patterns and lay -outs within said area; and
WHEREAS, the problem is particularly acute in that area of Duluth Street
lying just west of said State Highway No. 100; and
WHEREAS, said Duluth Street is a part of the Hennepin County Highway
system, being otherwise known as County Road No. 66,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of
Golden Valley that it hereby requests of Hennepin County Highway Department that
it undertake to conduct a traffic study of the traffic presently operating on
County State Highway No. 66, otherwise known as Duluth Street, in that area of
said Duluth Street lying just west of State Highway No. 100, including all
necessary surveys and traffic counts for the purpose of recommending alternatives
or additional traffic control devices, signals, layouts and designs for
said area.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Ulstad, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof:
Bix, Hoover, Moberg, Riggs, and Ulstad; and the following voted against the same:
None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by
the Mayor and his signature attested by the Village Clerk.
