#674 07-15-74 Request Resurfacing TH 121 1 Resolution No. 674 July 15, 1974 Member Bix introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION (Requesting State Highway Department Surfacing of T.H. 12) WHEREAS, studies by the State Highway Department indicate a reduction in noise by at least ten (10) percent in asphalt surfacing of eroded concrete, and WHEREAS, the State Highway Department has indicated that surfacing of Highway 12 in Golden Valley would be done, and WHEREAS, the noise level on Highway 12, particularly from Glenwood Parkway to Turners Crossroad, is disturbing to the residential livability adjacent thereto. BE IT RESOLVED, that the Golden Valley Village Council request the Minnesota State Highway Department to reprogram and contract for such surf- acing as expeditiously as possible to reduce the increasing nuisance and deterioration in residential livability in the adjacent area. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this matter be given a high immediate priority and not be included with or contingent on other improvements which may be controversial in nature or not a part of reduction of the traffic noise nuisance. City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Moberg, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Anderson, Bix, Hoover, Moberg, and Riggs; and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Clerk.
