#717 11-04-74 Acquire Northwest Quarter Section 29, Township 118, Range 21Resolution No. 717 November 4, 1974 Member Anderson introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION (Authorizing the Acquisition by Purchase or Condemnation) (Part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, Section 29, Township 118, Range 21) WHEREAS, it appears that it is necessary and desirable to acquire the real estate hereinafter described for street, road and utility purposed, and WHEREAS, the acquisition of said real estate through direct purchase or condemnation appears to be desirable and reasonable, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley that certain real estate described below be acquired by purchase or condemnation and the Mayor, the City Clerk, and the City Attorney are here- by authorized and directed to take all necessary steps and to execute the necessary documents in connection with the acquisition of said real estate, described as follows, to -wit: All that part of the Southerly 205.0 feet of that part of the Northwest 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 29, Township 118, Range 21, lying West of the East 704.0 feet thereof and East of the West 33.0 feet thereof; lying South and east of the following described line: Commencing at a.point on the West line of the Northwest 1/4 1/4 of Section 29, Township 118, Range 21; said point being 35 feet north of the Southwest corner of said 1/41/1; thence easterly 547 feet; thence deflect to the left 450 distant 21.21. feet; thence northerly on a line parallel with and 734.0 feet westerly of the east line of said 1/4 1/4 155 feet and there terminating. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the independent appraisal of the above described real estate which has been obtained be transmitted to the owner of said property and that an offer to purchase said property be made to the said owner for the amount of said appraisal, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the acquisition of the above described land is necessary and desirable and the purposes aforesaid for which said lands are to be acquired are a proper and necessary public purpose. F ay r Attest / City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Hoover and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Anderson, Bix, Hoover, Moberg, and Riggs; and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Clerk.
