#746 02-03-75 Agreement Alcohol Safety Action ProgramResolution No. 746 February 3, 1975 Member Bix introduced and read the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION (Authorizing Agreement with Department of Public Safety, State of Minnesota for Alcohol Safety Action Program) WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has entered into a contract with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the United States Department of Transportation to conduct an Alcohol Safety Action Program in Hennepin County, Minnesota, WHEREAS, the conduct of the project requires increased police patrol activity for the purpose of detection and arrest of those in violation of Minnesota Statutes 169.121, pertaining to driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, as well as standardized record-keeping concerning such activity, and WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley, acting through its depart- ment of Public Safety, is able to provide the services, goods and mater- ials required for the conduct of the project in the manner described above, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley that it hereby authorizes its Mayor and its Manager, acting on its behalf, to enter into a formal agreement with the Department of Public Safety for the State of Minnesota to provide increased "driving while under the influence" law enforcement, under the so-called Alcohol Safety Action Program, for a period extending from the date of said agreement to December 31, 1976, at a total cost to the City not to exceed $9,828.00, the City to receive in return supervision and funding os said project in the manner provided by law. Mayor G .- Attest: Deputy City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Anderson, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Anderson, Bix, Hoover, Moberg and Riggs; and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the Clerk.
