#009 01-05-76 Setting 1976 Wages and BenefitsResolution No. 9 January 5, 1976 Member Thorsen introduced the following resolution and MOVED its adoption: RESOLUTION (Setting 1976 Wages and Benefits) WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed wages and benefits for classified and unclassified employees in relation to conditions existing in comparable communities, levels of responsibility, performance, general condition of the economy and ability of the City to fund salary increases, and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that it would be advantageous to the City and its employees to set wages and benefits on a two—year basis; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley that: 1. It hereby adopts the following general wage and salary schedules for the year 1975, said schedules commencing for work performed by the personnel named herein effective after midnight on January 5, 1976 to wit: (See two attached schedules of wages and salaries for classified and unclassified employees) 2. For the year 1977, the wage and salary schedules shall be adjusted by 4% effective for work performed after midnight on January 3, 1977; 3. The wage and salary schedule for 1977 shall be adjusted by an amount equal to the percent change in the July 1, 1976 to July 1, 1977 Minneapolis Consumer Price Index minus 4, times 75%, for work performed after midnight on August 8, 1977; 4. With checks issued on January 1, 1976 Police Lieutenants, Sergeants and Public Safety Officers shall receive a yearly clothing allowance of $200. 5. The City shall pay 50% of the insurance premiums for employee and dependent coverage for the years 1976 and 1977, based on the current schedule of benefits; 6. The Special Personnel Policies for Uniformed Police Division up to and Including Rank of Sergeant, dated October 5, 1973 shall be amended to provide that no employee shall be eligible for the longevity pay of 3% of base pay upon completion of 15 years. 7. Effective January 3, 1977 the City of Golden Valley Personnel Resolution, dated August 7, 1972 shall be amended to provide that an employee shall accrue annual leave at the rate of 13-1/3 hours of annual leave for each month of service following 15 years of complete service; Continute next page: 1 1 Resolution No. 9 January 59 1976 8. This resolution does not apply to or affect the pay, fringe benefits or working conditions of Local #49 S.U.O.E. where the contract is the sole agreement between the employees and the City. ROBERT R.
