Member Johnson introduced and read the following written resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION
(Designating the Housing Community Development Block
Grant Fund of $23,450 with first priority for improvements
to Brookview Community Center to remove the architectural
barrier and the remaining amount for the feasibility study
as proposed.)
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has received notification from
HUD that $23,450 worth of proposed social service funding has been declared
eligible; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that there is a need to
utilize funds to review options for providing a Senior Community Center
as well as removing handicapped barriers at the existing Brookview Clubhouse,
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED that the Golden Valley City Council does hereby
designate $23,450 of Housing and Community Development Block Grant Funds
to be used for improvements to the Brookview Community Center to remove
handicapped barriers and the remaining amount for feasibility study of
options of providing a Senior Community Center.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by
Member Anderson and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor
thereof: Anderson, Hoover, Johnson; Swartz and Thorsen and the following voted
against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed
and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
