Member Johnson introduced and read the written resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION
(Designating Bargaining Representative)
WHEREAS, Employees in the Public Safety Department are seeking bargaining
authority as specified in Minnesota State Statute 179.65, 179.66 and 179.69, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council may appoint a representative to bargain with
said employees as specified in Minnesota State Statute 179.63 Subd. 4,
and;
WHEREAS, the Council feels that it is in the best interest of the City
to designate said representative, NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Golden Valley that the Assistant City
Manager is hereby designated as the exclusive representative of the City in
negotiating with the exclusive representative of Pub Safet Employee organizations
formed pursuant to Minnesota State Statutes 179.67.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Member Thorsen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following members voted
in favor thereof: Anderson, Hoover, Johnson, Swartz, Thorsen and the following
voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed
and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
