Member Swartz introduced and read the following written resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION
(Authorizing the acceptance of a donation of real estate as a
gift from Elmo Ginkel and June Ginkel, his wife)
WHEREAS, Elmo Ginkel and June Ginkel, his wife, have offered to donate to
the City of Golden Valley certain real estate which has a market value of
$43,000.
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has advised the City Council that Mr. and Mrs.
Ginkel have good title to the subject property, which is described as follows:
Outlot 2, Medley Hills, 2nd Addition (That part lying North
of a line running from the NE corner of Outlot 1 to NW
corner of Lot 1, Block 2, Medley Hills, 2nd Addition).
WHEREAS, the City Council has by motion passed at a regular Council
meeting held on November 7, 1977 approved a letter agreement with Mr. and Mrs.
Ginkel dated November 3, 1977 respecting the proposed donation; and;
WHEREAS, Elmo and June Ginkel are to present a deed to the City of
Golden Valley conveying said property by gift to the City in accordance with the
terms and conditions of said letter of understanding.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Golden
Valley that the gift of the above-described real estate is hereby accepted, the City
Clerk is authorized and directed to provided Mr. and Mrs. Ginkel witha certified
copy of this resolution, and the City Attorney is authorized and directed to file
the deed thereto in the office of the Hennepin County Recorder in and for Hennepin
County, Minnesota.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the above-described real estate shall be used for
park, open space, and/or such other public purposes as its duly constituted City
Council shall from time to time determine.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the City of Gold V 1 h reby acknowledges to
Elmo Ginkel and June Ginkel its sincere apprecia��ion o th it gift of the above-
described property. %
