#041 06-05-78 Declare Housing and Redevelopment AuthorityResolution.No. 41 June 5, 1978 Member Stockman introduced and read the written resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NEED FOR A HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY IN GOLDEN VALLEY, MINNESOTA WHEREAS,'a hearing has been held by the City Council at Golden Valley, Minnesota, to determine the need for a Housing and Redevelopment Authority to function in such City; and WHEREAS, facts have been submitted to this body showing that there is a need for a Housing and Redevelopment Authority to function in the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota, that the Council of Golden Valley, Minnesota, hereby finds, determined and declares: 1. There exists in Golden Valley, Minnesota, substandard or blighted areas which cannot be redeveloped without the assistance of government; 2. Adequate housing accomodations are not available to veterans and servicemen and their families; 3. There is a shortage of decent, safe and sanitary dwelling accomodations available to persons of low income and their families at rentals they can afford; 4. It is hereby declared that there is a need for a Housing and Redevelop- ment Authority to function in Golden Valley, Minnesota, and said need continues to exist. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution be of a tive di tely upon publication. ROIERT R. ROVER, M R lml o 07 C1FAAAM4 . �h 011114A.] r \ The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Johnson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Anderson, Hoover, Johnson, Stockman and Thorsen and the following voted against the same; none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
