Member Johnson introduced and read the following written resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION
(Authorizing the acquisition by purchase or condemnation in fee simple
of certain property for the relocation and improvement of Rhode Island
Avenue)
WHEREAS, it appears that it is necessary and desirable to acquire the
real estate hereinafter described for the purpose of locating, constructing
and maintaining thereon public roads, streets and utilities, and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of said real estate through direct purcahse or
condemnation appears to be desirable and reasonable, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley that
the lands hereinafter described be acquired by purchase or condemnation, and
the Mayor, City Manager, City Clerk and the City Attorney are hereby authorized
and directed to take all necessary steps and to execute all necessary documents
in connection with the acquisition of said real estate, to -wit:
PARCEL 1.
All of Lot 19, Auditor's Subdivision No. 360, according to the plat thereof
on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder in and for Hennepin
County, Minnesota.
PARCEL 2.
All of Lot 20, Auditor's Subdivision No. 360, according to the plat thereof
on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder in and for Hennepin
County, Minnesota.
PARCEL 3•
All of Lot 21, Auditor's Subdivision No. 360, according to the plat thereof
on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder in and for Hennepin
County, Minnesota.
PARCEL 4.
All of Lot 22, Auditor's Subdivision No. 360, according to the plat thereof
on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder in and for Hennepin
County, Minnesota.
PARCEL 5.
All of Lots 23 and 24, Auditor's Subdivision No. 360, according to the plat
thereof on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder in and for
Hennepin County, Minnesota.

on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder in and for Hennepin

PARCEL 7.
All of Lot 26, Auditor's Subdivision No. 360, according to the plat thereof
on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder in and for Hennepin
County, Minnesota.
PARCEL 8.
All of Lot 27, Auditor's Subdivision No. 360, according to the plat thereof
on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder in and for Hennepin
County, Minnesota.
PARCEL 9.
All of Lot 28, Auditor's Subdivision No. 360, according to the plat thereof
on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder in and for Hennepin
County, Minnesota.
PARCEL 10
All of Lot 29, Auditor's Subdivision No. 360, according to the plat thereof
on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder in and for Hennepin
County, Minnesota.
PARCEL 11.
All of Lot 30, Auditor's Subdivision No. 360, according to the plat thereof
on file and of record in the office of the County Recorder in and for Hennepin
County, Minnesota.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the independent appraisals of the above-
described real estate which shall be obtained as required by applicable Minnesota
law be transmitted to the owners of said properties and that offers to purchase
said properties be made to the said owners for the amounts of said appraisals,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in the event any of the above-described real
estate cannot be acquired by negotiated purchase pursuant to said appraisals,
the appropriate officers of the City descirbed above be authorized and directed
to commence the appropriate condemnation proceedings, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the acquisition of the above-described land
is necessary and desirable, and the purposes aforesaid for which Said lands
are to be acquired are proper and necessary publ' urpos

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resoution seconded by Member
Thorsen and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof:
Anderson, Hoover, Johnson, Stockman and Thorsen and the following voted against
the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted
signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
