Member Anderson introduced and read the written resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION
(Supporting the adoption of Water Quality Control for
Medicine Lake under the Joint Powers Agreement)
WHEREAS, the Bassett Creek Flood Control Commission is investigating
the possibility of funding a quality control program for Medicine Lake, and;
WHEREAS, the Commission has requested an indication from each member
community on the extent of involvement by the Commission in such a quality
control project.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT,
1. The City Council of the City of Golden Valley agrees with
the concept of controlling the water quality of Medicine Lake and;
2. The cost of such program should be paid by either the Bassett
Creek Flood Control Commission or alternatively a Lake Improvement
Board to be established according to present State Statutes and;
3. The Commission should also consider funding for those areas along
Bassett Creek which require extraordinary i)ntenanc-p or construction
projects in order to preserve the qualit; of'•the entire creek.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Member Stockman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereof: Anderson, Hoover, Johnson, Stockman and Thorsen and the following
voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed
and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
