Member Thorsen introduced and read the following written resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION
(Fixing General Wages and Salaries for 1979)
WHEREAS the Village Council has discussed at length proposed salaries
and wages for both classified and un -classified Village personnel as respects
the calendar year 1979:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Golden Valley that it hereby adoptes the following general wage and salary
schedules for the year 1979, said schedules to commence for work performed by
the personnel named herein effective after Midnight on January 1, 1979.
1979 CLASSIFIED SALARIES
Hourly Rates (Eff. 1-1-1979)
Volunteer Chief - $450 per mo./plus fire calls
(2) Asst. Chief - $225 per mo./plus fire calls
Captains $5.50 per call/hr
GROUP II
The following employees are members of I.U.O.E. Local #49 and salary and fringe
benefits are set pursuant to a negotiated contract:

And, Be it Further Resolved that:
1) Section 4.9 of the Personnel Resolution dated January 3, 1977
is modified be deleting ". . . upon termination after age 50 (termination
after 40, Police only) disability or death while employed . . ." and inserting
"upon termination of service after completion of Ten (10) years of continuous
service or death while employed. . ."
2) Section 7.1 of the Personnel Resolution dated January 2, 1977
is amended through the addition of the following:'
Employees not participating
in the City's Hospitalization and Medical Group Insurance shall be eligable to
apply that portion of the premium paid by the City/for single coverage to other
approved insurance as provided in Section 7.2 of the Personnel Resolution - Life
Insurance."
3) James Crawford, Director of Public Safety is authorized to
earn in the manner specified in the Personnel Resolution 3 weeks of vacation
per year effective 1/1/79•
4) Section 7.1 of the Personnel Resolution dated January 3, 1977
is amended through the addition of the following: For all employees in the
management salary schedule the City shall assume the entire cost of the family
premium. For those management employees not utilizing the family coverage,
1/2 the cost of the family coverage premium shall be eligibj4e7o be applied
to any approved group insurance as described in Section 7. o the P7r/nnel
Resolution.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
Member Johnson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following members voted
in favor thereof: Anderson, Hoover, Johnson, Stockman and Thorsen and the
following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared
duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by
the City Clerk.
