#012 03-17-81 Authorize MnDOT Certain CrossingM• Resolution #12 March 17, 1981 Member Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION Authorizing Petition to the Minnesota Department of Transportation for a Certain Crossing in the City of Golden Valley WHEREAS there has been expressed to the City Council for the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota, following research and investigation, the need for a street crossing at a point where Laurel Avenue crosses the Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern Railway's Main Line and Spur Track, as located over and across Lots 5 and 6, "Meadow Brook Acres, Hennepin County, Minnesota" and Government Lot 4, Section 4, Township 117, Range 21, in the City of Golden Valley, and WHEREAS the City Council for the City of Golden Valley desires that the Department of Transportation for the State of Minnesota conduct a public hearing, if necessary, in order to determine the necissity for said crossing and a determination of installation of warning devices to provide adequate protection for the traveling public at the above referenced crossing; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota, that the City Attorney petition the Department of Transportation for the State of Minnesota to conduct a public hearing, if necessary, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 219 of the Minnesota Statutes for a determination of the matter as to whether a crossing should be installed at a point where the aforesaid Laurel Avenue crosses the Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern Railway's Main Line and Spur Track, in the City of Golden Valley. RESOLVED further, in the event that it is determined by the Department of Transportation that this crossing is necessary, the City Council for the City of Golden Valley further petitions the Department of Transportation that it also determine the need for installation of warning devices to provide protection to the traveling public over said corssing and allocate and divide the cost respecting the installation of said warning devices, all in accordance with the manner provided for by the Minnesota Statutes hereinabove referred to. Maor ATTE CITY C ff The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Johnson, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Anderson, Johnson, Thorsen, Stockman; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the Deputy City Clerk.
